COURSE TYPE AND DESCRIPTION
3 day First Aid at Work (HSE)
An in-depth course covering all required aspects of First Aid:
- legal framework / record keeping
- managing an emergency
- use of equipment / first aid box
- basic life support
- choking - adult, baby and child
- personal hygiene procedures
- managing a bleeding casualty
students will also be able to manage a casualty suffering from:
- shock
- injury to bone, muscle or joint
- head injury
- burns / scalds
- eye injury
- poisonous substances, gases and fumes
- minor illnesses
- major illnesses
Suitable for anyone who needs to gain the HSE First Aid at Work certificate, which is valid for 3 years.
There is a final assessment on day 3 conducted by external assessors.
2 day Requalification First Aid at Work (HSE)
A refresher course covering the above subjects.
Suitable for anyone who wishes to update and maintain their certificate, which is valid for 3 years.
There is a final assessment on day 2 conducted by external assessors.
CANDIDATES MUST HOLD A CURRENT DATED FAW CERTIFICATE FROM AN HSE APPROVED ORGANISATION TO REQUALIFY.
1 day Emergency First Aid at Work (HSE)
A course comprising of all the basic aspects of the FAW:
- legal framework / record keeping
- managing an emergency
- use of equipment / first aid box
- managing a casualty who is unconscious and/or in seizure (basic life support)
- personal hygiene procedures
- managing a bleeding casualty
- manage a casualty suffering from choking or shock
- manage a casualty suffering from minor injuries
The tutor will provide ongoing assessment throughout the course.
Certificate is valid for 3 years.
12 hour Paediatric First Aid (Ofsted compliant)
An in-depth course covering all aspects of First Aid for Child Carers – as recommended by the National Childminding Association and Pre-School Learning Alliance. Live for Work is approved by the North West Partnership (SureStart) to run this early years course.

Suitable for anyone working with children or running children’s activity centres.
Certificate valid for 3 years. Evidence can be provided be a qualified NVQ Assessor for those working towards an NVQ in Childcare and Education.
2 hour basic Life Support refresher workshop
- managing an emergency
- basic life support (adult)
Suitable for those already holding valid certificates who wish to update their knowledge and skills.
Cabin Crew in-flight Medical Care
Courses tailored towards each individual company, in line with JAR-OPS requirements. All aspects of the First Aid at Work course can be covered, plus:
- administration of CPR within the aircraft environment
- use of on-board oxygen and First Aid Kits
- hypoxia
- hyperventilation
- air sickness
- emergency childbirth
- any other specified requirements
Suitable for those training initially as Cabin Crew, or trainers responsible for updating Crew skills.
